Dr. Angel Gavieiro has more than 25 years of senior executive experience as a banker and strategist in Corporate & Investment Banking and Retail & Commercial Banking. He has worked based in the UK, UAE and Spain, covering North America, EMEA and Asia-Pacific. 

Angel is the founder and managing partner of AG Strategy & Partners in Abu Dhabi (2015) and London (2017), a boutique consulting and advisory service for the Financial Services industry, including FinTech/digital transformation and Climate Finance. Author of 'Strategy in Action' book, published by Springer in Apr. 2022, suggesting a Holistic Management Strategy framework to develop best-practice strategy from businesses to complex multinational organizations.

Led the strategy function for the EMEA region within Wholesale Banking & International at Wells Fargo (2018-20), based in London. In this role, he supported EMEA management by driving lines of business and functions to develop best-in-class strategy and planning. Member of EMEA Operating Committee and part of the EMEA Brexit Steering Committee. Also, he held senior executive roles as divisional head of strategy & business development for Lloyds’ Wholesale Banking & Markets division (2008-12) and Barclays’ International Retail & Commercial Banking division (2004-07) and .

Also responsible for $200m P&L in Wholsale Banking as head of domestic corporate markets for Al Hilal Bank (UAE, 14-15) and Agency Treasury Services and Corporate Finance for Lloyds’ Financial Institutions Group unit (08-09).

Angel’s career foundation was debt capital markets at SocGen (94-00) and management consulting at McKinsey & Co (01-04).

Angel has an MBA from Duke University (02) and Ph.D. in Financial Economy from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (04). He is also a Fulbright scholar and liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Int'l Bankers of the City of London.
