Dr. Chalonda Smith is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. She offers management consulting services that leverage evidence-based best practices, providing a unique blend of cross-functional skills to a diverse clientele. Her work spans various fields, including mental health, residential, juvenile justice, local government, federal and state government, and community-based organizations. As the former Chief Strategy Officer for the Clayton County Board of Commissioners, Dr. Smith was instrumental in guiding the strategic direction of the county and the development of a county-wide grants department. She continues to advocate for people on a broader scale by influencing policy changes and assisting agencies in transforming communities.
Dr. Smith earned her PhD in Public Administration with a concentration in law and public policy from Walden University. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including ICMA, American Society for Public Administrators (ASPA), where she serves as Vice-President of the Georgia Chapter, NACo, NACo Leadership Alumni (2020), Leadership Clayton Alumni (2023), Women of Clayton County, Southern Crescent Rotary Club, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She is currently working towards becoming a Certified Management Consultant and a Project Management Professional (PMP). Dr. Smith is a founding member of H.O.M.E Connect, a nonprofit coalition to support the continuum of care for the homeless and unhoused population.
