With its unique category expertise, deep understanding of customer needs and successful track record in addressing complex challenges throughout the payments lifecycle, Mastercard Advisors addresses the challenges and opportunities of its clients, enhances Mastercard's strategic and tactical performance and establishes Mastercard's global thought-leadership pre-eminence.The Advisors Business Development team focuses on selling engagements and solutions and managing the client relationships in close collaboration with Mastercard’s account management team to financial institutions, merchants and governments worldwide.All About the Role The role is part of a well-established Pan-European group within Mastercard Advisors that drives the business development activities. The Director Business Development, in partnership with the existing team, will further drive growth of Mastercard’s Advisors business in Germany by developing new business and creating strong partnerships with FIs, merchants, fintechs and governments around payment services.All About You: • Is able to identify the most critical aspects of a challenge by analyzing Client needs and potential solutions• Creatively identifies new business opportunities• Autonomously develops and supports sales pitches and business proposals with minimal guidance• Writes well-structured and persuasive proposals and communicates to executives to pursue• Builds a robust relationship network with internal and external stakeholders, project sponsors and decision-makers • Has the skill-set to manage long-term client relationships• Oversees key analyses to formulate recommendations• Is accountable for key metrics such as budget, margin and manages the country P&L• Partners with project team to ensure project quality and identification of follow-up sales opportunities• Plays a key role in capturing of assignment knowledge and drives to ensure it is available firm-wide• Actively participates in recruiting, training and developing othersAll About You: • Entrepreneurial spirit• Business development mindset • Experience in building and developing client relationships with senior industry leaders• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German• Highly analytical thinking and ability to present the results• Strong client management and selling capabilities• Strong results-orientation• Openness to work in an international environment• Self-motivator/self-starter• Profound working experience in a top-rated consulting firm desirable, as is payments/• financial services expertise, with experience in driving and managing sales processes.
