WHAT YOU'LL DO

Together with the Global Practice Area Leader (PAL) and the leadership team, the Global Practice Management Senior Director (GPMSD) develops and sets the strategic agenda for the Public Sector Practice and translates it into concrete activities and robust processes. The GPMSD acts as the Practice’s “COO” who drives, coordinates and oversees the ongoing activities and events. The GPMSD is in charge of the Practice’s and the sectors’ infrastructure and responsible for setting up scalable, world class operations that deliver fast, reliable and high quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders . He/she is the leader of the PA Management and Operations team, PA KT, and other non-consulting staff under the PA roof (today: marketing team, PA Manager, PA Senior Analyst, sector senior managers).

YOU'RE GOOD AT

Co-owning/driving PA strategy development and execution, in line with business priorities Formulating PA strategy and priorities with the PAL and broader leadership team; writing annual plan Translating strategic priorities into action, in collaboration with sectors and other groups/functions at BCG Preparing analyses to support leadership discussions; formulating recommendations and business cases Liaising with and influencing key stakeholders across BCG functions to increase awareness of and support for the PA agenda, offering, value proposition and successes As needed, driving/PMO specific strategic initiatives Designing and running world-class business operations Acting as a “COO” to the Practice, owning its day-to-day operations Developing and leading a high-performing Management & Ops Team Establishing robust processes to effectively support business development, monitoring and decision-taking Ensuring effective collaboration across sectors and geographies Driving cross-functional teaming with FPAs, IPAs and other functions at BCG Owning, structuring and managing the practice’s budget (tier 1, expenses…) Driving progress against commercial, people and content agenda Partnering with regions, systems and intersecting PAs to support the growth and success of the practice Working with sectors to ensure content development investments are in line with strategic priorities and needs; ensuring commercialization of outputs Acting as liaison to BCG’s Client team (e.g. related to planning and execution of campaign investments, senior client interviews, competitive analysis) Acting as liaison to BCG’s People team Acting as liaison to the LAB team to plan virtual trainings, primers and other training offerings Driving affiliation and “draw” to the practice Together with LT, promoting the PSPA and its sectors as strong career/promotion platforms at BCG Working with LT/MT to plan and execute internal global and regional meetings and other activities that create excitement and nurture a sense of affiliation Driving best-in-class internal and external Marketing and SATT activities Working with Marketing Director and LT to develop and execute Marketing/SATT agenda in line with business priorities Working with Global PR and Government Communications Senior Director and team to put in place appropriate PR strategies and capabilities across our markets Promoting innovation across portfolio of marketing activities Driving risk management strategy and implementation across the practice Working closely with Legal and the Risk Team to implement the Working with Government Policy, including supporting bi-annual independent reviews and tracking risk actions endorsed by the EC. Supporting and help grow the global Risk & Contract Management cadre across PS markets Coordinating PS Marketing, PR and Legal to ensure a joined-up reactive/proactive risk management approach Further evolving Public Sector Practice’s portfolio of Knowledge Services and Products Together with Knowledge Business Senior Director and leadership team, further evolving portfolio of the Public Sector KT’s services and products Ensuring close collaboration with FPAs, PDT/PBU unit, BCG X etc.

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

Master’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience

Proven ability to lead and develop large and remotely operating international teams

Proven experience in managing large, complex businesses

Ability to operate successfully in international, cross-functional and ambiguous settings

Ability to influence up, down and across

Strong performance in a consulting staff role (senior PL or Pr), or in a Director position

Experience in 1+ sectors of the Public Sector PA a plus

Excellent command of the English language

YOU'LL WORK WITH

The Global Practice Management Director works primarily with the global Practice Area Leader (PAL), and the global and regional PA Leadership Teams. He/she is the leader of the PA Management and Operations team (including Sector Managers, PA Coordinators and the PA Marketing Team), the PA KT and other non-consulting staff under the PA roof (today: Marketing Manager, PA coordinators, Sector Managers).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Large Public Sector locations preferred (Washington, Sydney, Singapore, London, Dubai…) but open to any BCG location pending host office approval.
