WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH You will work in our McKinsey London office within the Panorama Financial Institutions and Insights Consulting team (PFIC). PFIC is one of the largest knowledge and analytics teams globally and part of the Financial Institutions practice, with 200+ members and a global footprint across 20+ locations, focusing on financial services domains, e.g., retail banking, corporate & investment banking, wealth & asset management, Fintech and insurance. The Insurance team within PFIC also has a global footprint, with ~30 members based across Gurgaon, Shanghai, Waltham, Frankfurt, Paris, Monterrey, and San Jose (CR). WHAT YOU'LL DO You will support consulting teams on client engagements with research requirements on Insurance related topics. This will include consolidating data across multiple sources, developing unique perspectives, creating client ready materials and other tasks as needs arise. You will conduct primary and secondary research within the Insurance domain using, proprietary and third-party data sources and managing day-to-day workflow post which you will be responsible for packaging research findings in the form of client ready end products which could be power point presentations and/or financial models. Over time, you will develop expertise in a specific area within Insurance and drive research and development of new knowledge as well as contribute to broader knowledge development and proprietary assets. Additionally, you will contribute as an active member of the global PFIC community and develop relationships around the globe to build on your knowledge and provide support to the broader network as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record; MBA or similar qualifications with a specialization in finance is a plus
4+ years of relevant work experience gained in the insurance domain, either at an insurance company, broker, reinsurer, rating agency, regulator or other leading consulting firms, banks, or reputed Fintech firms
Strong understanding of insurance concepts and in-depth knowledge of insurance metric, product, trends and/or operations
Proficiency in advanced Excel including macros; creating regression equations; and strong analytical skills (SQL; SPSS; Tableau; Alteryx is a plus)
Superior problem-solving, analytical and quantitative skills
Professional attitude and service orientation
Ability to work independently as well as in a team
Willing to work in a highly demanding and result-oriented team environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
