WHAT YOU'LL DO

BCG’s global Infrastructure, Transport & Cities (ITC) Sector Manager supports the global Sector Leader and his leadership team in developing and executing the sector strategy, translating it to concrete initiatives and running the business with senior stakeholders and peers. The sector serves the top players in all Infrastructure and Transport related industries as well as Cities and governmental bodies - key clients include players from following industries: Rail, Metro & Transit / Real Estate / Engineering, Construction & Services / Shipping, Ports & Logistics / Postal, Parcel & Express / Roads & Airports, as well as Cities. We thus serve both public- and private-sector clients. The role will be an integral and influential contributor to the development and growth of BCG’s Infrastructure, Transport & Cities sector. More specifically, activities will include but are not limited to: Sector strategy: Support the Sector Leader in the end-to-end development and execution of the sector strategy and annual plans. Help translate the strategy into concrete initiatives and drive and track implementation with senior stakeholders. Identify, conceptualize and drive focus initiatives within the sector Business development: Identify new business opportunities and drive business development activities, including identifying critical new IP and competitive intelligence and monitoring of lead flow, proposal pipeline and sold cases Reporting and budgeting: Analyze and interpret the sector’s business performance and report on budget utilization throughout the year People: Develop people plan and facilitate implementation, e.g., lateral hiring, cross-office mobility, expertise management, diversity Affiliation: Set agendas for and lead organization of global and regional sector meetings and calls and prepare key presentations; manage internal sector communication Marketing: Work with the Practice's marketing team to plan and drive marketing activities, e.g., publications, external communication and events

YOU'RE GOOD AT

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree with strong academic achievements preferred At least 8 years industry experience or 4 years consulting experience Significant BCG experience preferred, ideally on the Consulting Team (equivalent to Consultant or Project Leader) Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

YOU'LL WORK WITH

The Sector Manager works closely with the global Sector Leader and his leadership team for the development and execution of the sector strategy. For daily business, the candidate collaborates with other Industrial Goods Sector/Regional Managers, Practice Area Coordinators, and Marketing. The candidate also collaborates closely with the Public Sector Management team, as the ITC sector sits in both Industrial Goods and Public Sector Practice Areas. Further collaboration with other global and regional BCG functions and teams occurs as needed.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

BCG's Industrial Goods Practice is divided into four sectors: Automotive & Mobility (A&M), Greentech & Engineered Products (G&EP), Materials & Process Industries (MPI) and Infrastructure, Transport & Cities (ITC). The Practice includes the Consulting Team that works with our clients, the Knowledge Team, and the Practice Area Team that manages the Practice and includes Sector Managers, BD Managers, Regional Managers, Coordinators and Marketers. The Practice Area team is, in short, the backbone of the Industrial Goods Practice.
