DescriptionPreferred Locations are Seattle, Austin, San Francisco or New York where we have team members based. However, we are flexible on final location.
At Amazon Web Services (AWS) we are leading the cloud revolution. As a Startup Program Manager you will be a part of a team that helps start-ups all over the world accelerate their adoption of AWS Cloud.
We are looking for someone who has a proven track record of building and leading global programs. The candidate should have expertise in working backwards from the startup customer and understanding their mindset, being able to identify startup concerns and barriers to AWS Cloud adoption and formulate a clear program that addresses this need in a measurable way and at scale.

This is an individual contributor role but you will serve as the global program lead and drive decisions around program scope, investment, ROI, budget and growth of the program. Previous exposure to running global teams and peer to peer leadership will be an asset.

Delivering a program successfully requires coordination with multiple internal stakeholders – Account Managers, Solution Architects, APN Partners. The ability to develop relationships and ensure that you are able to pull in the right resource at the right time is key. This is a global role and therefore coordination between 100s of global stakeholders across time zones will be part of the day to day job and is in itself a unique challenge and opportunity.

Successful candidates will have technical inclination and keenness to learn more about AWS Cloud, be detail driven, and have experience in managing a global program. You should be a passionate and proven team member with the ability to gain stakeholder buy-in, communicate confidently at both the executive and project team level, and collaborate with a wide range of technical and non-technical teams, regardless of geographical or organizational boundaries. You should be a natural problem solver with a cool head that can deal with ambiguity, work autonomously to drive the deliver results for your customer, build IP, and share best practice across geographies.

A startup’s life is chaotic. Projects get deprioritized, stalled often. More things go wrong than right. Working with Account Managers and Solution Architects to ensure that the current projects are on track and successful is key to delivering results. Getting involved in big strategic deals and guiding the conversation, calling out gaps, risks ahead of time, influence the startup CTO/Founder to prioritize the project will ensure success in the role. A strong ability to think critically and creatively is needed to perform well in this role. A keen sense of ownership, drive, curiosity and scrappiness is a must.
