Business Advisor, Business Consulting - Finance (Financial Management) - Financial Services Office (Senior Manager) (Multiple Positions), Ernst & Young U.S. LLP, New York, NY.    Advise clients and lead project teams on a variety of finance business transformation initiatives that help identify, assess, improve and measure the organization's capabilities. Assist clients and lead project teams in realigning their operating structures to enable their business strategies. Document findings of studies and prepare recommendations for implementing new systems, procedures, or organizational changes. Interview personnel and conduct on-site observation to ascertain unit functions, work performed, methods, equipment, and personnel used.  Analyze data gathered and develop solutions or alternative methods of proceeding.  Develop implementation plans and procedures to improve organizational structures, communications, information flow, production methods, inventory control, or cost analysis. Confer with personnel concerned to ensure successful functioning of newly implemented systems or procedures.  Experience in one or more of the following sectors: banking and capital markets, insurance, wealth and asset management.  Develop more junior team members by teaching and coaching on both technical topics and broader consulting skills.  Contribute to business development by generating new opportunities and developing client relationships in the finance sector,     Lead and direct teams of professionals with diverse skills and backgrounds by providing constructive on-the-job feedback/coaching to team members. Develop and maintain long-term client relationships and networks. Manage risk in the delivery of quality client services. Generate and manage new business opportunities.

 

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40-45 hours per week, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field and 8 years of experience (of which 5 years are progressive, post-baccalaureate). Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field and 7 years of related work experience.     Must have a combination of 7 years of experience working at a professional services firm, financial services company or comparable experience working as an advisor to a financial services company.    Must have 5 years of experience in providing advisory services in the finance function.    Must have 5 years of experience in at least one of the following that impact the finance function:  - General Ledger Reconciliations  - Chart of Accounts Rationalization & Design  - Close to Report  - Cost Reduction Initiatives  - Funds Transfer Pricing  - Budgeting and Planning  - Procure to Pay   - Regulatory reporting  - Financial planning and analysis    Must have 3 years of experience in managing staff on multiple projects and providing direction to team members.    Must have 5 years of experience in one or more of the following:   - Assessment and redesign of finance processes   - Refinement of target operating models particularly within the Finance function  - Finance transformation and accelerated close  - Sub-ledger/ledger redesign  - Management reporting enhancement  - Business intelligence/decision support  - Financial planning, budgeting and forecasting  - Business/Merger Integration  - Reconciliation redesign or improvement  - Regulatory and statutory reporting improvement    Requires travel up to 80% of which 50% may be international, to serve client needs.     Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
