These include transaction monitoring, sanctions filtering tuning, above the line/below the line analysis, identification of trends and patterns, model validations including DFS 504 certifications, and suspicious activity model design and refinement. The ideal candidate can work with large data sets to ensure that Compliance teams have the necessary information available to support policy development and decision-making.

This includes understanding regulatory requirements, applying them to financial services business models, designing systems, incorporating data effectively, and ensuring the effective execution of programs. This will also include creating and executing the periodic and ongoing tuning methodology for monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

Project manage and/or support on a range of client delivery, as part of an on-site or remote project team Conduct effective meetings, liaising with Compliance, Data Science and Engineering, and Operations/Management teams Collaborate with internal and client project team members, and contribute to internal communications and readiness activity within the program team and with client groups Provide status reporting of progress, dependencies, issues, risks, and overall program health Design financial intelligence systems and develop data requirements, working with Compliance teams as well as Data Scientists and Engineers Apply expertise in systems and data analysis, data mining, and data visualization to see beyond the numbers and generate insights that influence the strategy for Compliance teams Utilize a deep background of data structures and sources to identify relevant data sets and build dashboards and reports to show key performance/risk indicators Oversee and maintain data integrations of key systems, architecture, and compliance vendors Use analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvements and efficiencies across compliance programs and systems Create and maintain documentation on pipelines, tools, and data sets to demonstrate program soundness Be a thought leader for data-informed initiatives and help to guide the team’s direction Partner with Data Science, Policy, Legal, Product, Engineering and Operations teams to solve problems at scale Qualifications 2+ years of experience performing compliance business and systems analysis and implementations Knowledge of AML Compliance, or other related financial regulations globally BA/BS in Computer Science, Math/Finance, Physics, Applied Economics, Statistics or other technical field Intermediate to advanced experience with financial crimes, SQL, Python, Excel, statistics, and data analysis Experience building requirements in a waterfall, and/or agile environment, Jira knowledge is a plus Experience manipulating and transforming data as part of systems integrations Has worked with model validation frameworks for DFS 504, and/or SR 11-7 of the Federal Reserve Experience operationalizing measurements and applying statistical analysis to evaluate process performance Ability to understand complex compliance obligations and work with the relevant teams ensure the effective functioning of financial intelligence systems Experience assessing, analyzing, and resolving complicated issues, and distill that complexity into simple and concise concepts Experience initiating and driving projects to completion with minimal guidance Experience communicating the results of analyses in a clear and effective manner Additional information Compensation & Benefits

New York compensation for this opportunity ranges between $90,000 and $116,000. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, and market location.

Hybrid Workplace Guidelines

Sia Partners maintains its hybrid workplace arrangements and provides a flexible workplace environment that is driven by client and business/market needs. While our firm does support hybrid work, there are times that we may require our consultants to work onsite at one of our Sia offices or a client office full-time. Consultants are expected to have the ability to be flexible with work location depending upon business needs. When in-between client engagements, Consultants typically work onsite at a local Sia office 2+ times per week.
