WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Functional Finance Team is an integral part of the worldwide Finance organization, providing insight supported by meaningful and accurate financial information to help guide and influence the decision-making process of our leadership teams. The team partners with the leadership of our Global Functions, senior finance management, and local, regional and global finance colleagues across the organization.

The person in this role will act as a primary Finance Business Partner to key transformation elements of our Finance functions within BCG. The responsibilities of this role will include advising and providing financial support to senior Finance Functional Leadership and Management, as well as support to several of our cross-functional initiatives within the global transformation of the Finance Function.

You'll provide decision support with respect to operating models, investments in change initiatives, financial planning, and developing innovative reporting to translate financial results into business impact. The role will build and maintain relationships with the management team, will take an active role in discussions at the senior firm leadership levels and will act as a thought partner to function leadership in establishing and managing KPIs, targets, and metrics.

The responsibilities of this role will also include Collaborate with Transformation initiative owners to define business case cost and benefits Support efforts to quantify and report on benefit realization in transformation efforts Driving end-to-end functional strategic planning activities supporting reviews with executive firm leadership Collaborating with management on business achievements and outcomes, and using innovative analysis on historical data to influence future business decisions Challenging status quo and pushing for reporting automation and innovation, and operational improvement, simplification, and optimization Coaching and mentoring of the team This position will play a critical role as a strategic thought partner to the Finance team. Ideally you will bring experience and confidence that will help drive new ways of thinking and further improve our own financial maturity as a function and an organization.

The role will build and manage relationships with the Finance leadership team and take an active role, along with other members of the functional finance team, in discussions at the senior and executive firm leadership levels. YOU'RE GOOD AT

Building relationships will be critical to success of this role in order to establish a seat at the table with senior management as a true business partner. This will require the ability to balance when you need to listen, negotiate, flex or push back where needed. This will require you to be proactive in learning and understanding the various sub-functions within Finance in order to provide premier business partnering support and align our financials to the value and services that are being provided across the firm.

This role will require a confident person who can make and influence decisions with senior management through ownership of the annual financial planning, cost trend analysis, business cases and portfolio management for investments, large scale transformations, etc. In order to drive educated decision making, you need a sound understanding of the bigger picture and an ability to prioritize.

Ultimately this person will need to have a consultative approach to problem solving, working closely with stakeholders to understand the problem we are trying to solve, providing deep analysis, and offering viable solutions. YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting/economics and/or a MBA A minimum of 7-10 years related finance experience, preferably with prior experience working as a finance business partner or in a FP&A capacity Further knowledge or experience with financial governance of transformation programs incl. benefit estimation and reporting Excellent communication skills – both oral and written, with the ability to adjust to multiple audiences and the confidence to present to and influence senior management A passion for working in a collaborative team environment Critical Thinking and problem solving – proven ability to work through complex problems and analyses in providing a thoughtful concrete solution Motivation and self-drive – excited by tackling challenges and pro-actively finding new ways to provide value to senior leadership Advanced Excel skills - experience building scalable financial models and analysing large data sets Other strong system skills a benefit, such as knowledge of Tableau, Alteryx, Think-Cell, Trello, Slack etc.

YOU'LL WORK WITH

In addition to key stakeholders in the Finance Functional management team, you will be part of and work with the Functional Finance Team, which is an integral part of the worldwide Finance organization providing insight supported by meaningful and accurate financial information to help guide the decision-making process and providing truly strategic business partnering to the Functions. The team partners with the leadership of our Global Functions, the Finance Leadership team, and local, regional & global finance colleagues across the organization. As a key member of the Functional Finance Team, this role will interact closely with both the senior leadership of the Finance function (Managing Directors & Partners, Senior Directors, Directors, & other key stakeholders), and the leadership team of several other core functions taking an active role in discussions at the senior leadership levels.
