WHAT YOU'LL DO

External content Is an important area of leverage for our case team in delivering client impact. Given the criticality of this service, we invest significant budget in procurement of data sources and enabling access for our case teams, knowledge and research and analytics teams.

The Global Information Procurement and Access Director will be responsible for shaping the strategy and long-term plans for this function. This will involve deep understanding of our service / value offering, needs of our end users and deep understanding of the sources and its use cases for the firm (client vs. marketing vs. corporate development and others)

We are looking for a candidate who will take on the responsibility of optimizing value (new offerings, cost & risk) from one of the biggest spend items for BCG in the knowledge space. This individual will also be responsible for coaching and managing a team of 8+ content procurement experts who will execute the day-to-day operations. Identification of new / alternate / redundant services, content delivery and leading the negotiation with the vendors and risk mitigation will be key parts of this role, as well as contract negotiation.

The role will broadly involve leading all aspects of external content services and implementation of related technologies: Develop and execute strategic global data and content roadmaps Set strategic roadmaps and oversee rigorous processes for assessment of external data sources, to ensure best in class content Develop internal customer segmentation and understanding of differentiated content needs Promote communication and manage relationships with consulting team and knowledge team to ensure content integrity and improve usability of data delivery platform Develop and execute data delivery platform to ensure the right employees are getting the best content possible Partner with Global Business Architecture and L&D to align content delivery strategies and optimize from the end-user perspective Partner with IT to oversee and manage execution of the platform technology Direct global procurement of content services including identification, assessment, and negotiation of contracts Negotiate complex enterprise-wide content contracts and service level agreements Ensure contracts and access rights strike the right balance between cost and value for BCG Institute appropriate policies and processes to manage risks associated with use of external content within BCG case teams Manage a team of data professionals As part of Case Services Leadership team contribute towards broader strategic vision of the larger vendor driven case team services. Act as a multiplier taking on other hybrid business operations/relationships as case team group evolves to add differentiated capabilities. YOU'RE GOOD AT

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

A minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibility, preferably within a professional services firm Experience within a large organization and ability to navigate within the organization Ideally some direct consulting services management experience or experience in a leading management consulting firm Experience in a corporate environment that is recognized for having best-in-class approaches to administrative and operational excellence and talent management Undergraduate degree required; MBA or other professional degree preferred

YOU'LL WORK WITH

This role will involve high level of interaction with the Practice Areas, Client Service Partners, Case teams, Data & Research Services, Analytics, Global Business Architecture, Learning & Development, etc, helping teams optimize leverage from external content services. Case team services group (working title) is a newly formed team focused on procurement and business operations management of various external capabilities e.g., external research, content, expert networks, language services, design, and production etc. This 40+ member team is currently responsible for ~USD 400 M in managed spend. It’s a dynamic team of specialized professionals with expertise in a wide variety of capabilities. 2023 and beyond key focus areas for this group would be – leverage technology to develop insights on how these capabilities are deployed within the firm, create optimization opportunities, create a world class service experience with highest quality for BCG and clients. Overtime new capabilities will be integrated or added to the portfolio.
