WHAT YOU'LL DO

BCG is looking for an IT strategy director to create, maintain, and report on the overall IT strategy and deliver specific sub strategies on a wide range of topics

The heart of this role is work across all our businesses, IT and our Digital organization to set the strategic direction for digital and IT for our company.

You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively to solve complex, ambiguous questions with senior business and IT Leaders and the broader BCG team to set direction for the next 3+ years. You will be highly strategic in your thinking, passionate about consulting and technology able to see the future in a way others cannot. You will put together clear problem statements and compelling arguments to set and gain alignment to your ideas and arguments. You will work broadly across the organization to understand opportunities and problems and lead the organization to amazing answers backed by data and then drive your answers into action. Success in this role requires exceptional written materials (PowerPoint) and always give clear persuasive verbal arguments.

This role requires experience creating strategy, enthusiasm for technology and emerging trends, and a strong business acumen that drives a deep understanding of IT’s customers and capabilities.

YOU'RE GOOD AT

Thinking strategically and finding great answers to complex questions. You see what others don’t see and think hard about the world, our business, technology and how this will shape our future in 2 or 3 years and what we should do about that. You will seek diverse views, and with a growth mindset consider both conventional and unconventional answers. Dealing with ambiguity and finding a way through where paths have never been trodden before and thinking beyond. You will be working on the edge of what we are doing, pushing the limits, making us think about what could be even better You love variety and collaborating. Opportunities and problems will come in all sorts of shapes and sizes across our operating model, technology, talent, suppliers, etc. You will have experience in these topics and more and will find it energizing to work on new problems with new people every day. Rolling up your sleeves and “doing”, pioneering the way forward and bring others along with you. You produce high-quality arguments and supporting materials. You are adept at agreeing these at different levels in the organisation. You will be amazing at PowerPoint. Ability to drive planning efforts for our annual cycle, driving decision making on prioritizing initiatives, funding, and resources to make the most impactful changes across the Function aligned to our strategy You will be highly curious, driven to know more about the world, our business and technology and applying this in your day-to-day work. Well organised, reliable, you will need to maintain presentations and other materials which will be needed at a moment notice i.e., strategy decks, strategy progress reports

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

You will either have been a consultant or exhibit strength in the essential qualities of a consultant, able to engage in a complex organisation to understand the current state and problems, formulate strategic direction and then gain buy in to this at all levels of the organisation. 12+ years’ working in IT or Digital organisations, a good proportion of this must be with strategy experience. Significant experience and success in working in a highly matrixed organisation with a flat structure where direction is set by the best arguments not by seniority. Your experience will include multiple successful examples of autonomously: Setting strategy on different topics in complex organisations, in this regard you will be highly value orientated rather than technology orientated leading decisions through to a conclusion in a highly matrixed organisation with minimal or no supervision. Once a strategy is set, getting actions into action. Rallying the organisation to make the first steps before handing over to delivery teams. Preparing materials for, and presenting at, senior levels including C-Suite. You must be a superb storyteller with a strategic mindset able to create brilliant arguments and supporting materials in PowerPoint

YOU'LL WORK WITH

You will be directly reporting to the Strategy and Transformation Lead while working hand in hand with the CTO. You can expect frequent contact with the rest of the IT leadership team including the CIO, other ‘C’-suite stakeholders like the Chief Risk Officer, and the broader director community in our digital organization.
