gTech Sustainability is a team within gTech focused on the application of Google’s data, technology, and programs to develop a circular and sustainable world without plastic waste. As a Strategy and Business Development Manager, you will have a passion for sustainability, an entrepreneurial mindset, comfort with ambiguity, and enjoy working in many different areas.



In this role, you will drive strategy, develop insights, and build partnerships with a diverse ecosystem of customers focused on the plastic pollution problem. You will have a mix of both strategy and business development experience.

Responsibilities


  • Work with executive leadership to define, launch, and drive strategic sustainability initiatives spanning the organization. Enable critical decision making by aligning and working with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Lead strategic analysis including gathering data, identifying and supporting solution development, and conducting business analyses with effective project management.
  • Develop external partnerships (e.g., startups, non-profits, non-governmental-organizations, etc.) to support the development and scaling of technical solutions.
  • Structure and implement strategic initiatives by developing work plans, gathering and synthesizing relevant data, leading analyses, developing recommendations, and analyzing results.
  • Support the annual planning process for the sustainability team (i.e. preparing strategic updates for executives).

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in management consulting or strategy/project management at a technology firm
  • Experience developing and landing initiatives
  • Experience with business planning or scoping initiatives and programs


Preferred qualifications:


  • MBA or graduate degree in a management, technical, or engineering field
  • Experience in the sustainability industry
  • Experience working with external partners in business development
  • Experience working with analytical tools and techniques (i.e. SQL)
  • Interest in the problem space (i.e. plastic pollution)
