Bio
Sumit Mittal is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Strategy and Performance Improvement practice in Dubai. He has more than 11 years of financial services experience with a focus on strategy formulation and execution, organization restructuring, cost transformation and greenfield business builds across Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the US, and India.
Mr. Mittal has supported commercial banks, central banks and public financial institutions across GCC. He advised public financial institutions on strategy formulation, governance enhancement, financial sustainability and risk management. In addition, he has helped them in two successful new business launches in the GCC. Most recently, Mr. Mittal led a multi-year cost transformation program for a leading UAE commercial bank.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Mittal was a Principal in BCG’s financial institutions practice area focusing on strategy, transformation programs and regulatory development. He started his career at Citibank India in the Corporate & Investment Banking division and spent a summer with the investment banking team of JP Morgan in New York.
Mr. Mittal earned an MBA from New York University Stern School of Business and master’s degree in international business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. He passed all three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program.
