Over the past few years, Andrea Lugini has been meticulously renovating a country house in Italy. "I have a clear plan," he says. "Every year, I do a piece." Andrea brings the same dedication, determination, and long-term thinking to developing strategies and building operating models for his private sector, government, and national clients.
Although he has fond memories of growing up in Rome and completing his studies in London and New York, Andrea ultimately fell in love with the Middle East, where he works in Kearney's Dubai office. He enjoys the diversity in the city and within the office, which is staffed by consultants worldwide. He and his colleagues are driven by curiosity and passion, and they are always willing to help each other out. "We have a group of incredibly intelligent people who are, at the same time, equally humble,” Andrea says.
Andrea's favorite projects are the most challenging ones, where he gets to build something from the ground up. He has created multiple government entities (including a new ministry), designed national strategies, and helped local companies defend their market from global competitors. "I like deepening relationships with existing clients and meeting new ones, understanding their problems, and helping them find solutions," he says.
Clients can trust that Andrea has their best interests in mind. If he thinks something they're asking for isn't going to work, he's not shy about letting them know. “It's my job to provide advice to my clients, so if something they'd like to do isn't going to give them the results that they want, I will tell them bluntly," he says. Andrea's targeted workstyle helps his clients step up, take control, and create something they're proud of.
