Jan Schmitz-Hubsch is a Partner with Strategy&, and the leader of the firm’s Healthcare practice in the Middle East. Having joined the firm in 2007, he has gained substantial healthcare consulting experience with Strategy& in the Middle East. Over the years he has led diverse strategy assignments for governments, payers, providers, investors, and life science companies across a multitude of areas including healthcare strategy development and implementation support, public-sector strategies, growth and investment strategies, as well as operating model and market development in both the Middle East and Europe. In addition to his experience in shaping the strategic agenda of leading healthcare players as a consultant, Jan worked in a senior industry role with Munich Re's international healthcare division, as well as with Philips Healthcare. Over the years, Jan has published a number of viewpoints and opinion editorials, the most recent of which examined how to create resilient mental health services for GCC health systems. In addition to his client work, Jan has co-authored several reports and articles, including: - Making healthcare systems resilient: An action plan for the next decade - How the COVID-19 pandemic paved the way for value-based healthcare - The future of healthcare has arrived: How Middle East healthcare players can respond - Jan has a postgraduate degree in business administration from the Nordakademie University of Applied Sciences, Germany.
