Bio

Stephen Smith is a Senior Vice President with Teneo, based in Dubai. He is an investor relations, financial and corporate communications specialist and former journalist. Stephen has more than 14 years’ experience, having worked across New Zealand, Australia, United Kingdom and United Arab Emirates. Prior to joining Teneo, Stephen led communications, marketing and brand for a number of Emirates Group businesses, including the Group’s international inflight catering, inflight retail and airport food and beverage business. He also led communications for the Group’s incubators and accelerators, which were run in conjunction with other multinationals, mentoring and investing in aviation, tourism and travel related start-ups. Prior to this, Stephen was based in London where he led communications for a multi-year reorganisation and restructure project at Lloyds Banking Group. In his native New Zealand, he worked in investor relations and communications for New Zealand’s largest listed entity. Stephen started his career in business journalism with Television New Zealand, the country’s state broadcaster. Stephen holds an M.B.A from University of Manchester and a Bachelor of Communications Studies (Journalism) from Auckland University of Technology.
