Oliver Wyman’s Public Sector team covers the GCC region from offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Kuwait and Doha. The team is organized around several different specializations:

1. Sector development: Economic diversification, investment promotion

2. Public sector excellence: Governance, institutional capacity building, data-driven decision making

3. Human capital development: Education & skills, labor market & employment, social development

4. CREATE: Urban development & real estate, tourism, entertainment & cultural sector development

5. Fiscal sustainability: Fiscal policy, and macroeconomic studies and policy

ASSOCIATE (Junior Manager): Break down complex problems into discrete tasks, identifying the key aspects of a problem and directing the focus of junior consultants to those elements. You will effectively plan and execute analysis as well as identify the core issues in complex analyses in order to be able to craft suitable recommendations. You’ll work side by side with clients and your project team members to move projects forward and manage small teams to get the work done. Clients and colleagues look to Associates for unique insight into the subject area which they have chosen.

ENGAGEMENT MANAGERS are the on-scene leaders who run our projects day to day. You will lead the team through an efficient and effective problem-solving process from initial thought process through convergence on a solution. You will ensure that recommendations are correct, practical, sensible, relevant and cohesive. It’s a role that demands thought leadership at the strategic level – and command of all the technical and operational details of execution. You will need great communication skills and the ability to forge strong relationships.

Attributes and experience

Clients hire Oliver Wyman for specialized expertise, the ideal candidate will have most of the following:

- Minimum of 4-10 years of relevant experience, ideally with a top-tier strategy consulting firm (or other similar organizations)
- Knowledge in Public Sector and Public Policy topics
- Strong background in strategic problem solving with demonstrable analytical skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both formal and informal settings
- Fluent in English, Arabic is a plus
- Undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic program
- Willingness to travel
- Capacity to take the initiative, seeking out opportunities to learn new skills and put the ones you’ve already got to good use.
- Creativity: ready to come up with novel ideas to solve our clients’ biggest problems.
- Aptitude for analytical work, like sniffing out clues in massive data sets or hunting down the key issues in a hugely complex challenge.
