Associate/Senior Associate – Strategy and Transactions – Transport Sector The opportunity

EY’s Strategy and Transactions unit focused on Transport domain and working with Government and Public Sector clients leverages global best practices – working with colleagues across the EY Network, to provide customized strategy, business and transaction advice to clients. The team has led, and continues to work on, marquee initiatives across various Transport sub-sectors and supports Clients in implementing strategic initiatives. 

The team is looking to expand and strengthen its management team and is looking for professionals experienced in the broader domain of Infrastructure and ideally with exposure to/ experience of delivering projects, or working in, specific Transport sub-sectors of Roads & Highways, Airports, Railways & Metro Rail, Ports & Shipping, and Inland Waterways.

The specific areas of focus as well as roles and responsibilities can be discussed and agreed with suitable candidates depending on their experiences and expertise. Broadly, areas of key responsibilities as part of the management team are described below.

Your key responsibilities

•    Engagement Delivery o    Support the team on engagements with Clients and manage relationships with functional level Client personnel o    Support client requirements across a broad spectrum of business issues (and help them transform the effectiveness and efficiency of their business) requiring interventions spanning strategy formulation, implementation of strategic initiatives, project structuring, project and program management, transaction advisory, etc. o    Work in a collaborative way to support the team on multiple engagements while adhering to engagement and Firm requirements  •    Business Development o    Support the team on responding to tender notices,  development of proposals, client presentations, etc. •    Learning and Development o    Undertake learning courses related to work requirements such as commercial & financial analysis, strategy & policy formulation, transportation planning, project and program management, project structuring, transaction advisory, etc.  o    Pro-actively collaborate with professionals in the team through knowledge sharing

Skills and attributes for success

•    Domain knowledge in a few key functional skillsets/ areas like financial analyses & modeling, transportation modeling, socio-economic impact modeling, strategic problem solving, business planning, project and program management, implementation of strategic business interventions, project structuring, transaction advisory, etc. – and broader exposure to others •    Excellent presentation and communication skills •    Strong analytical and commercial skills •    Ability to create and develop insightful and practical solutions – focused on the Client/ business problem •    High initiative and drive •    Maturity and ability to handle pressure •    Positive attitude and high commitment •    Professional appearance and poise •    High orientation on relationship building/ team connects •    Project management/ time management •    Highly adaptability quotient

To qualify for the role, you must have

•    Masters in Business Administration (Preferred), Transportation Planning or other relevant streams (from a premier institute), or Chartered Accountant with a good academic background – Engineering qualification from a premier institute at a graduation level would be preferred  •    No post qualification professional experience requirement after Master’s degree for the position of Associate  •    Minimum 3 years of relevant post qualification professional experience after Master’s degree for the position of Senior Associate

The job will entail

•    Travel to Client locations and the candidates accordingly need to be willing to travel as per business requirements
